removethetagWhen you suffer from something as annoying, and sometimes embarrassing, as skin tags you want to use a product that will kill those suckers and get them off your body. Skin tags can be found on any person at any time, although they do seem to prefer the skin of newborns and the elderly. They like to pop up in the folds of skin where it’s moist which can be really uncomfortable if you’ve got one sprouting in your armpit. They don’t discriminate against any skin colour and they don’t discriminate with gender. A single person can have anywhere from 1 to 100 skin tags on their body at any given time. While skin tags are generally small and don’t grow to larger than 3mm in diameter they’re just not something a lot of people can love.

There are several options when it comes to removing the pesky little brats and it’s important to choose the option that is most comfortable for you. You can cut the skin tags, use a topical cream or freezing product, and you can thread them. Threading involves wrapping a thread or a piece of dental floss tightly around the base of the skin tag, thereby cutting off the blood flow, until it falls off on its own. You can do any of these options from the comfort of your own home, however it is recommended to meet with a healthcare professional if you have any skin tags around your eyes that you want to get rid of. You really don’t want to mess with your eyesight.

Many people choose to go with the topical creams. A lot of the reasoning behind this is because many, if not all, of the creams currently available use natural ingredients and tend to be less chemical. This usually helps calm any fears on how the skin will look after using this product to remove the tag. Two of the more popular skin tag removal creams are the Pristine Herbal Touch® and Tag Away®. Both of these products claim to use natural ingredients in their solutions and both claim that it is easy and simple to use them from the comfort of your own home. They are both very different products, however.

Pristine Herbal Touch® comes with what feels like your entire first aid kit in its packaging. Along with the removal cream and some anti-bacterial solution you will also receive cotton swabs, an emery board, scratching implements, application sticks and a container for the cream. With this large kit comes some pretty specific instructions. The nice thing about this product is that you only have to apply it once and it takes around 2 weeks for the skin tag to fall off on its own. The downside to this particular product is the fact that many people have reported that it is painful. You need to apply the cream directly to the skin tag and leave it on for almost twenty minutes for it to be affective. Some people have even said they had a scar afterwards. Every person is different so it is very possible that those who saw a scar was because they were picking at the scab it might leave which can lead to scarring.

The other cream product people recommend takes a bit more time than Pristine Herbal Touch®. Tag Away® requires daily application for 3-8 weeks or until the skin tag falls off. The process with this cream is a lot simpler, however. Tag Away® does not come with a multitude of implements nor does it come with several sticks and swabs. You simply purchase the cream and using a cotton swab you probably already have in your house, you apply it to the skin tag. There is no pain associated which this cream but there is quite a bit of time until you see results.
